Thazhava Weaving Village

The village of Thazhava in Kollam is a pretty little hamlet renowned for making elegant pieces of traditional Kerala mats, Thazhapaya or Screw pine mats. One of the oldest crafts in Kerala, weaving of screw pine mats stretches back to several hundred years. 

Alumkadavu

Alumkadavu greets you with the cherished fragrance of wood and coir. A village famous for the construction of houseboats itwill surprise you with its laid back and relaxed charm. It is here that the majestic beauties, kettuvallams (traditional rice barges), that adorn our backwaters are made.
